Windows

The January ASM Rollup contains KB4056895/KB4056894 and applies to Windows Server 2012R2 and Windows Server 2008R2 hosted on the ASM. This security update includes improvements and fixes that were a part of updates released December, 2017, as well as a fix for Meltdown and Spectre vulnerabilities (CVE-2017-5715 and CVE-2017-5754).

Once Intel microcode becomes stable and completes our testing process, Ribbon will release a BIOS update to complete the vulnerability fix. The release date is not yet determined.
To benefit from the Microsoft security fix, apply the Rollup as follows (no other action is required):
1. Access the SBC Edge Web UI.
2. Upload the ASM January Rollup.
3. Apply the Default Security Template.
4. Install all the Windows Update available.
The capacity impact on a Revised ASM (Broadwell Pentium embedded server) is detected at below 2%.
